I am always looking for a new TV show to watch. TV is my guilty pleasure – I would binge watch season after season of my favourite shows for weeks if you let me.
Like almost every other Aussie, I am partial to a medical show. Whether it is Real Bodies or watching reruns of Scrubs, I can get lost and cry my way through a season (or 5) of a series.
Last Thursday I, along with a dozen other ladies, had the privilege of checking out a brand new series – The Good Doctor.
I don’t want to give too much away but the show has it all. I cried – in fact, I think we all cried – I laughed, I contemplated and at the end, I was ready to watch another episode.
The series follows Dr Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome from a small town, where he had a troubled childhood. He relocates to join the prestigious paediatric department at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital.
It was a sensational day. I met some truly hilarious and incredible women, we chatted, had champagne, watched the show and then debriefed in our very own private workshop.
Talking to all my new found friends, many of which had kids, the common theme is how we all love to curl up on the couch and switch off; for as many hours as possible.
Getting alone time can be challenging but there is nothing more blissful than having the children unconscious (and breathing) and having one of your favourite shows ready to go.
If you have some time before the upcoming school holidays, I have listed my top medical shows that you should check out!
