I first came across H&M whilst I was travelling in Berlin in 2005. It was like walking into Disneyland, especially as we had nothing like it in Australia.
Fast forward 13 years and I am dressing my kids in their clothes. Able to walk in to a store not far from my front door.
When big brands come to Australia, I have concerns, the first being the price point. The second is designs. I love that H&M has stayed true to its roots on both.
I find buying kids clothing to be frustrating at times. Boys clothing in particular can lack imagination. I really want a one stop shop where I can buy clothing in bulk and not have to worry about blowing the budget. H&M have a kids deal – ‘spend $60 and get 20% off your purchase’. Not a bad little bonus.
When H&M reached out to spread awareness about their Kids Collection, I jumped at the chance. I have been buying from them for well over a decade and there is nothing more satisfying than spreading the word about something you believe in.
I visited their Flagship store in Pitt Street to pick out a few of the latest looks for Billy and Liv. It was rather luxurious without the kids in tow.
The layout of the kids section was really easy to navigate. I appreciate a well stocked but not cluttered shop floor. After a good 15 minutes looking, I picked outfits straight from the mannequins for the kids.
The quality is great. I am really fussy on materials and sizing. Some brands run small or have odd shapes, H&M runs true to size and has good fabrics and prints!
